Hello
My name is Sophie Rehbein, born Sophie Desmoulin in Versailles, France, and I am a master goldsmith.
I love my job:-)
I got to know the goldsmith profession as a 17-year-old during a year abroad in a high school in the USA.
I was always creative and always liked to draw, but from then on I knew what I wanted to become. Goldsmith!
I heard about a great apprenticeship as a craftsman in Germany and moved to Münster in Westphalia right after graduating from high school. There I did my training as a goldsmith at the HBZ, Chamber of Crafts Training Center. It went smoothly. I spent my journeyman years with Hans Schindler in Soest in Westphalia. There he learned even more about platinum processing. Then I went back to the HBZ in Münster, where I was trained as a master and completed the exam as the best in my class.
Then I worked as a master at the jeweller Nonhoff in Münster until we moved to Frankfurt because of my husband's work.
Since then I have been self-employed and work in my small studio. I love creating, designing, making and finally selling the jewelry to my clients from start to finish. If the customers are satisfied, so am I.
It is very fulfilling to actively shape this process. It is varied and gives a lot of pleasure.
Self-employment is perfect for me. I am flexible and have time for my family (3 children, a husband, a dog and a cat).
Selling over the Internet isn't my forte, but I'm excited to be here at Etsy and still learn more.
Hallo,
