StillWaterDesigns 16.01.2009 01:38I would like to suggest that Dawanda put some kind of limit on the tags that are allowed on a product. As a seller, it is of course nice that one is not limited, but for a buyer this can be very frustrating. I happen to sell fabric by the meter from Amy Butler, who is a very well known fabric designer in the quilting scene. When I did a search for "Amy Butler" more than half of the results that came up were not even items made with her fabric. I think this confuses and is not fair to customers, and it makes searching difficult when one is looking for something specific. With limited tags, sellers would have to choose their tags more carefully and be mindful that the tags they choose really apply to their item instead of "riding the tail" of the real thing just to increase hits on their products.
AnitasBags 12.02.2009 14:27I think that would be a good idea!
I see so many listings with a huge amount of tags that doesn't have anything to do with the item in the listing. Most of these irrelevant tags are words that are frequently searched for, I guess sellers add these to come up in a search as often as possible...
As a buyer I find this really annoying, since I have to go through pages and pages of items I am not looking for.
Tizzalicious 13.02.2009 09:24I like the fact that we can use a lot of tags to describe our items, but I agree that something has to be done about the mistagging.
RedFenyx 17.02.2009 17:45I agree with Tizzalicious, I like using many tags too, but yeah, probably putting a (not too much) restrictive numbers of tags available would be a good idea...
