The inspiration of designing this twiggy brooch came after I went for a long walk in the countryside. I found this ordinary but very beautifully formed twig, which I thought would look stunning as a piece of jewellery. I used a technique called "sand casting". The original wooden twig formed a mould out of a sand mixture. I heated sterling silver to almost one thousand degrees Celsius and poured it into the mould to create this interesting silver twig casting. The twiggy brooch has a secure handmade catch soldered onto the back and can be worn on jumpers, t-shirts, jackets etc. ... always looking equally stunning. As with all of my designs, this brooch is one of a kind. Size: 7cm long, 2.5cm wide and 1cm deep
